This may sound strange but the sound of your engine makes a difference, some people like the sound of an old lister, others prefer engines quiet like canal line…whatever your preference, my saying is know your engine , if it breaks down you can fix it ,we just love fixing and tinkering with old oily stuff.
So the range of engine types is vast , however i am finding it difficult to find a good supply of recon engines which is my prefered aim because the parts are widely available its better for the environment reusing something.
new engines might be the answer for some people i am going to price a brand new canal line engine 25 hp which are low torque and very quiet as the boat only weighs 2 2 tonne i might have to evaluate that at a later date.
I will post some engines videos later so you can hear them running .

I started a conversation with vetus,
Following our telephone conversation yesterday – please could you let me know your address and I will arrange for a catalogue to be sent out. In the meantime I will start to price up the 2cyl Diesel engine in keel cooled spec and raw water cooled. As I said over the phone, we can offer a complete boat package including stern gear, controls, cable, water separator for example. This benefits you and the end customer by having only one company to deal with. We offer 5 year warranty on the engine and 3 years on all equipment.
